The Nyctosaurus clade - Beginning with No. 13 the Nyctosaurus clade includes Muzquizopteryx, the Fort Hays museum specimen, the Field Museum specimen, the Nebraska museum specimen and two private crested specimens, KJ1 and KJ2, both discovered by Kenneth Jenkins. The big pelvis, KUVP 993, was misidentified by Bennett (1991, 1992) as a female Pteranodon pelvis, but was shaped like a Nyctosaurus pelvis (click here for documentation). Bennett (2000) also mentioned a 4.6 m wingspan Nyctosaurus, which would have scaled well to the big pelvis. |
