Pteranodon walkeri KUVP 221 (Miller 1971a) was derived from a sister to AMNH FR7515 and phylogenetically preceded the YPM 2525 specimen of Pteranodon walkeri.

Distinct from CMC VP 7203 the skull of P. walkeri had a much anteroposteriorly long jugal. The crest and the nasal were relatively smaller. The mandible was shorter than the rostrum.
