Pteranodon kanzai (UALVP 24238 Dawndraco kanzai according to Kellner 2010) was derived from a sister to the USNM 12167specimen of Pteranodon and represented the end of this lineage.

Distinct from the USNM 12167 specimen, the skull of UALVP 24238 was longer and lower with a rostrum that did not taper anteriorly because the maxilla did not taper anteriorly. The orbit was smaller.

Distinct from NMC41-358, the cervicals of UALVP 24238 were more gracile with lower neural spines.

THe sternal complex was longer. The scapula was as long as the coracoid, but together they were relatively smaller. The humerus was longer. The radius, ulna and metacarpal IV were more robust.

The ischium was oriented more ventrally. The hind limb was shorter. The metatarsals were subequal.

Kellner (2010) considered this specimen a distinct genus, Dawndraco. Here it is considered just another Pteranodon but distinct enough to deserve a species of its own.

Tethydraco regalisi (Longrich, Martill and Andres 2018, Latest Maastrichtian) is a late, large Pteranodon, known from a few bones of several specimens of at least two sizes.
