Concornis e (Sanz and Buscalioni 1992, Szanz et al. 1995; MCM-LH-1184, LH-2814; Early Cretaceous, Spain; starling-size, 34cm wingspan) is another headless specimen here nesting with Archaeornithura. Inset shows pedal digit 5 vestige. Note the short thumb and pedal digit 1 with the largest ungual. The posterior ilium is longer than the anterior.

Archaeornithura meemannae (Wang et al., 2015) Early Cretaceous~130 mya, 12 cm, was derived from a sister to Archaeopteryx and is basal to all extant birds. The tail was shorter and more gracile. The sternum was large and vaulted. The pubis was reduced to a splint. The sacrum was robust, but not fused.
