Ancodus brachyrhynchus (= Elomeryx armatus or Hyopotamus armatus) (Marsh 1894, Middle Eocene, Oligocene 1.5m length) is an early artiodactyl ungulate with small tusks. Five-toed manus and four-toed pes helps determine which toes disappear in later ungulate taxa. |
