Homalodotherium cunninghami (Huxley 1870; 2m in length; Miocene) was originally considered a notoungulate, but here s a marsupial close to Toxodon and Thomashuxleyia. The manus was digitigrade. The pes was plantigrade. The clavicle (yellow) reappears in this mount. Related taxa lack a clavicle, so this may be a misplaced bone. The nares were larger, perhaps supporting a short trunk. |
