Gobivenator mongoliensis (Tsuihiji et al. 2014; Campanian, Late Cretaceous, 72mya; MPC-D 100/85) nests with Zanabazar in the LRT. This single individual is the most completely known troodontid.

Zanabazar junior (Norell et al. 2009, originaally Sauronithoides junior Barsbold 1975; IGM 100/1; Late Cretaceous, 70mya; est. 2.3m long, 27cm skull length) was a late surviving basal troodontid, close to Bambiraptor and Haplocheirus, not Sauronithoides. Originally it was considered a highly derived member of the troodontidae. Includes a nearly complete skull and braincase, part of the pelvis, some tail vertebrae, and parts of the right hindlimb. The teeth are relatively small.

Haplocheirus sollers (Choiniere et al. 2010 Late Jurassic, 150 mya, 2m long) is a basal alvarezsaurid theropod dinosaur, 15 million years older thanArchaeopteryx and slightly smaller than Sinocalliopteryx. It is a sister to Shuvuuia and together they are sisters to the dromaeosaurids, including Rahonavis, Velociraptor and Balaur.

The tail was not stiffened with elongate accessory processes. The pubis was oriented ventrally.
