Alioramus altai (Kurzanov 1976; Late Cretaceous), 70 mya, 6 m in length, was an earlier and smaller relative of Gorgosaurus, derived Zhenyuanlong. The skull was long and low with high lacrimal horns.

Raptorex kriegsteini (Sereno et al. 2009; age uncertain; 3m length) may be a juvenile or a small genus of tyrannosaurid.

Gorgosaurus libratus (Lambe 1914) Late Cretaceous, 75 mya, 9 m in length, was an earlier and smaller relative of Tyrannosaurus, derived from Alioramus and Zhenyuanlong. The skull was narrow with high lacrimal horns.
