Acrocanthosaurus triassicus (Stovall & Langston 1950; Albian, Early Cretaceous; 11.5m) was a large theropod arising from Allosaurus close to Giganotosaurus. The neural spines were very tall, convergent with those in Spinosaurus. The posterior dentary was very deep.
