Taeniolabis taoensis (Cope 1882; Paleocene, North America; 60 mya;16 cm skull length) was considered the largest multituberculate. Here it nests with Yubaatar from Asia. Note the very small braincase and huge jaw muscle openings. All the reduced molars and premolars were similar in size.

Yubaatar zhongyuanensis (Xu et al. 2015; middle Cretaceous, 99-66 mya; skull length 7cm; China) is ancestral to and half the size of Taeniolabis from North America.
