Shinisaurus crocodilurus (Li and Xiao 2002) is a living relative of Bahndwivici. Shinisaurus nests at the base of the Heloderma clade.
Above a hatchling and adult are pictured. The hatchling has longer teeth, but not a shorter rostrum. It has a shorter postorbital portion of the skull, a higher naris, a more bulbous braincase and smaller upper temporal fenestrae.
Note: Two data sources provide distinct images of the manus and pes. The ones to the right were created in isolation, apart from a reconstruction, so they are trusted here. |
