Daliansaurus liaoningensis (Shen et al. 2017; Early Cretaceous, Barremian, 128 mya; 1 m long) nests in the LRT as a basal anchiornithid, not a troodontid.

Papiliovenator neimengguensis (Pei et al. 2022; Late Cretaceous, Cenomian) nests with previously overlooked Daliansaurus in the LRT.

Distinct from sister taxa the rostrum bent down. The coracoid was disc-like, so it had not yet begun to flap with sufficient power to fly.

Wang et al. re-examined the specimen under laser to bring out additional soft tissue data (see above).

Pei et al. 2017 described new specimens of Anchiornis huxleyi, but only one nests with the holotype.

Aurornis xui (Godefroit et al. 2013, Late Jurassic, 50cm in length, 160 or 125mya) was preceded Archaeopteryx by 10 million years and was twice as tall. Large feathers, like those in Archaeopteryx, are not found in Aurornis.
