Powichthys and Tungsenia

Powichthys thorsteinssoni (Jessen 1975; Clément and Janvier 2004; Early Devonian; est. 30cm in length) was originally and correctly considered a member of the Dipnomorpha (lungfish) with internal nares within the tooth row. Often compared to Youngolepis, Powichthys is not closely related.

Tungsenia paradoxa (Lu et al. 2012; Early Devonian) originally considered the earliest known stem-tetrapod (= taxa closer to tetrapods than to lungfish). Here it nests with Youngolepis and is represented by similar elements.
