Kallokibotion bajazidi (Nopsca 1923; Pérez-García and Vlad Codrea 2018; Latest Cretaceous) was originally considered a meiolaniid. Here it nests between Proganochelys and all other hard-shell turtles. As in meioloaniids, a lateral temporal fenestra pierces the top of the quadrate. The tabulars are large. As in the toothed, pre-turtle, the naris is visible in lateral view.

Arvinachelys goldeni (Lively 2015; Late Cretaceous; UMNH VP 21151; 60cm in length) was considered the pig-nose turtle, having twin narial openings, a trait now shared with Kallokibotion. Several bones considered fused originally are here segregated by color. Arvinachelys is not closely related to the living pig-nose turtle, Carettochelys.
