Pentaedrusaurus ordosianus (Li 1989, Early Triassic) was a narrow-bodied procolophonid related to Procolophon and Hypsognathus. This clade was derived from basal diadectids like Diadectes and Orobates.
The orbit was elongated, likely for the eyeball to share space with the temporal muscles. The tall coronoid process of the dentary indicates the presence of strong jaw muscles. |
