Bashkyroleter bashkyricus (above) Efremov, 1940 (formerly Nycterleter bashyricus) B. mesensisIvakhnenko, 1997) Middle Permian (Late Kazanian to Early Tatarian). Bashkyroleter is the basalmost taxon of the Lanthanosuchus clade.
Derived from a sister to Milleretta and the Phonodus clade, the lacrimal retained a small margin of the naris. The otic notch was very large, possibly indicating a very large eardrum. The lateral temporal fenestra was closed. |
