Tianyuraptor ostromi (Zheng et al. 2010, STM1–3) Early Cretaceous, 122 mya, was also originally considered a primitive short-armed, long-legged dromaeosaurid, but here nests between Zhenyuanlong and Microraptor in the Tyrannosaurus clade. Compared th Zhenyuanlong, the orbit is rounder and the torso is longer as in Compsognathus. The ischium has an expanded distal rim.

Fukuivenator paradoxus (Azuma et al. 2016, Hattori et al 2021, FPDM-V8461, Early Cretaceous) was originally considered "a bizarre theropod" and a basal therizinosaur, here Fukuivenator nests with Tianyuraptor prior to Zhenyuanlong in the ancestry of Tyrannosaurus, taxa not mentioned in the Hattori et al text.
