Silesaurus opolensis (Dzik 2003) Carnian, Late Triassic, ~230 mya. 1.2+ m in length was a gracile successor toTurfanosuchus and phylogenetically preceded Lotosaurus.

Distinct from Turfanosuchus, Silesaurus had a longer cervical series, more gracile forelimbs and relatively smaller feet.

The teeth of Silesaurus were constricted at their bases.

The cervicals were larger and the neural spines were higher throughout the vertebral series and highest over the pelvis.

The scapula was more gracile with a broader ventral articulation with the coracoid.

The pelvis was similar to that of Turfanosuchus, but the pubis and ischium were longer.

Asilisaurus (Middle Triassic) in two sizes (adult, juvenile) compared to Turfanosuchus and Nyasasaurus. Compare Asilisaurus to Silesaurus. This is one of the earliest known poposaurids and, like Silesaurus, had no calcaneal heel.

Pseudolagosuchus major (Arcucci 1987, Middle Triassic, 235 mya ~70 cm) was originally considered a basal dinosauromorph. Nesbitt et al. (2012) nested Pseudolagosuchus with Lewisuchus and with Silesaurus. The present large tree confirms the nesting of Pseudolagosuchus with Silesaurus, but Lewisuchus nested with the proto-archosaurs Decuriasuchus and Pseudhesperosuchus.

Pseudolagosuchus was much smaller than Silesaurus and appeared several million years earlier.
