Anthracodromeus longipes (Cope 1875 originally Sauropleura, Carroll & Baird 1972; Westphalian, Late Carboniferous ~306 mya; AMNH 6940). Carroll and Baird linked Anthracodromeus with Romeria. Müller and Reisz (2006) nested this taxon close to Cephalerpeton and Protorothyris.

Here Anthracodromeus nests with another slender archosauromorph with long slender toes, Hylonomus, all derived from a sister to Coelostegus and Paleothyris.
