Alligatorellus beaumonti (Gervais 1871; Late Jurassic) was found in Solnhofen marine limestones. It is a small, short-snouted primitive carnivore, closely related to Late Triassic Dyoplax and the gharial, Gavialis.

Dyoplax arenaceus (Fraas 1867, Lucas, Wild and Hunt 1998; Maisch, Matzke and Rathgeber 2013) is a unique Late Triassic crocodylomorph, one of the three original crocodylomorphs in the 19th century along with two aetosaurs. Dyoplax nests as a basal gavialid and close to Jurassic sea crocodiles.

Pelagosaurus typus (Bronn 1841; Upper Lias, Lower Jurassic) nests with Teleosaurus with very little difference in the LRT.

Gavialas gangeticus (originally Lacerta gangetica Gmelin 1789) is the extant gharial, now restricted to India. Here it nests with Pelagosaurus (below).

Gryposuchus pachakamue (Gurich 1912, Salas-Gismondi et al. 2016; Miocene, 70mya) is a gavialoid from the Amazon of South America.

Sarcosuchus imperator (de Broin and Taquet 1966, Sereno et al. 2001; Albian, Early Cretaceous, 130 mya; 9m est length) is a large gavialoid from North Africa close to Gryposuchus. Note the overhanging and laterally expanded premaxilla.
