Pterodactylus micronyx (Meyer 1856) ELTE V 256 was the holotype for the species "P. micronyx." It is the so-called "Pester" specimen that was considered lost until Osi, Prondvai and Géczy (2010) rediscovered it. This specimen is not related to Pterodactylus. Here the Pester specimen was derived from a sister to BSp 1968 XV 132 and n30, the Pester specimen phylogenetically preceded, Cycnorhamphus and Felilongus.

Similar in size to n30, the sternal complex of the Pester specimen was bell-shaped. The scapula was shorter and the coracoid was longer.. The pteroid was longer. Manual 3.1 was elongated. Manual 3.3 was no longer than m3.2. The manual unguals were smaller.

The ischium was as deep as the pubis. The prepubis was relatively larger. The hind limb was longer and more robust. Pedal 1.1 was relatively shorter.Digit 2 was relatively shorter and did not align unguals with digits 3 and 4. Digit 5 was smaller.

While this specimen is the holotype for the micronyx species of Pterodactylus, this specimen is not related to Pterodactylus, but to Cycnorhamphus. The relative length of manual 3.1 and metarsal 1, along with several other traits indicate this despite first-glance similarities.
